Privacy Policy

Foldly is built privacy-first. This policy explains how we handle your data — the short version: we don't collect it.

1. What data we collect

Foldly is a Chrome extension that runs entirely in your browser. We do NOT operate a server that stores your data. All data Foldly creates is stored locally on your device via Chrome's storage.local API.

Locally stored data includes:

Your folder names, colors, and organization
Which chats you've assigned to which folders
Your pinned chats and settings
Your license key (if you upgrade to Pro)

We do not collect, transmit, or store: your chat contents, your conversations, your account info, your IP address, or any analytics.

2. We never read your conversations

Foldly organizes the chat list in ChatGPT and Claude's sidebars. It reads only chat titles and links (to build folders) — never the contents of your conversations. Nothing is ever sent off your device.

3. Permissions explained

storage: To save your folders and settings locally
Host permissions (chatgpt.com, claude.ai): To add the folder sidebar on those sites only

4. Payments

If you upgrade (Lifetime or Pro), payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your payment details. See Stripe's privacy policy at https://stripe.com/privacy.

5. Your rights

Because we store nothing on our servers, there's no data to access or delete on our side. To remove all Foldly data, uninstall the extension or clear its data in Chrome.
